Play it againBefore you book your DJ:

  • Before handing over any of your hard earned cash always ensure your MC/DJ uses quality equipment as this really is half the battle. No matter how competent, if you can’t hear him over the crackle or if the music sounds like it's coming from a cheap car radio, then it's probably gong to ruin your night.
  • Find out how many weddings your MC/DJ has performed at, as creating a ‘party’ atmosphere is a skill only gained with experience.
  • As with the speaker quality you MC/DJ needs to be clearly audible as well as competent and confident in what he is saying.
  • Make sure you hire a charismatic and approachable MC/DJ. You want your guests to have a fun time, not be bored, intimidated or feel ignored.

In closing, a final point to consider on quality vs price: Saving a few dollars on your entertainment should not be considered as this is one of the most important events of your life and you want it to be spectacular, not mediocre!
